THE SHORT ANSWER

First separate the photo you can see in your own cloud library from the file offered by the upload picker. On supported Android, check the Google Photos account and cloud-media source. For an owned iCloud library, download or export the selected photo. A missing input is not a public-profile search returning no matches.

Identify where the process stopped

Use only the non-sensitive image your partner or date chose to share and that you are permitted to submit. Note whether it is absent from the selection screen, selectable but rejected, or already submitted with no useful results. These are different stages. Do not replace it with an unrelated screenshot just to make the upload proceed.

  • Not listed: check the selection source.
  • Listed but rejected: keep the error and check the supported input options.
  • Submitted successfully: interpret the actual returned results separately.

For Android, check the account and cloud-media source

Google documents an Android 13-or-later setting that makes backed-up Google Photos media available in the system photo picker. In Google Photos settings, Google Photos access includes a photo-picker Allow or Don’t allow choice. With multiple accounts of your own, confirm which account the picker may access. If backed-up items remain missing, Google documents choosing Google Photos under the device’s Cloud media settings. This applies when that system route is available; it does not establish which picker a particular App version uses. [Use photo picker to share photos in other apps]

For iCloud, obtain only the selected item

Apple documents selecting items in Photos on an updated iPhone or iPad connected to Wi-Fi, using Export Unmodified Originals and choosing a Files destination. It also documents selected-item downloads on iCloud.com. Obtain only the photo needed for this task; there is no need to synchronize an entire library for one image. Check the actual file and the permitted route

Open the selected or exported image and confirm it is the intended photo and that the file opens on this device. Use the input options shown in your App version; if the file is rejected, retain the error rather than assuming a particular cause. Selected-media access and whole-library access are different choices. You can pause instead of granting broader access for one image.

Resume the public-image question

Once the intended input is ready, use it for the original question: where does this permitted image appear publicly, and what does the linked page actually say? Keep the cloud-library source separate from any public result. A similar picture cannot establish who operates a profile or whether a partner has breached an agreement. Stop if the needed file or a permitted input route remains unavailable.

A couple more questions

Does a photo missing from the picker mean it is missing from the web?

No. The picker concerns which file you can submit. It says nothing about public appearances or matching profiles.

Should I give the app my whole library?

You can keep the choice narrow. Google documents selected backed-up media through its supported picker; Apple documents downloading selected items. If no suitable route is available, pause the upload.
