If you exported one Live Photo from Mac Photos in its original format, its still image and video are two components of one source. For an image lookup, choose the permitted still and keep its connection to the original in your notes. Two exported files are not two independent photos of your date.

Confirm the export, rather than guessing from filenames
Apple documents that an original-format Live Photo export creates a still-image file and a video file. That explains a pair you produced from one item in your own library. It does not establish that two forwarded files belong together just because their names are similar. If you do not know their origin, keep that uncertainty instead of joining them. Choose the still for the actual image task
Start with a non-sensitive photo your date or partner has chosen to share and that you have permission to use. Identify the exported still by opening that file as an image. Apple also documents exporting a Live Photo as a still image, which may be a simpler route. Keep the video out of this image submission; this guide does not establish that a search app accepts video or a Live Photo bundle. [Export photos, videos, slideshows, and memories on Mac]
Keep one source row in your batch notes
Use a short note outside the App: the source photo, the export you performed and the still you selected. For example, in a hypothetical batch, one Live Photo becomes a still plus a video, while another ordinary photo remains a single image. Those files represent two source photos, not three. This is your own bookkeeping, not a promised automatic grouping feature.
- Keep the source item and its exported components connected in your notes.
- Mark which still you intend to use; do not count the companion video as another image.
- If you create a crop, mark it as a derivative of the same source.
Check the handoff before starting the search
Use the image options actually offered by your App version and inspect the selected file or preview. If it is not the intended still, cancel that selection. If the file is rejected, retain the error and check the supported options; rejection alone does not tell you whether format, size, connectivity or another issue caused it. Do not diagnose a person or a missing public profile from an upload failure.
Carry the source note into the result
A public page returned for the still is a candidate source to read in context. Keep its URL separate from your note about the original photo. Similarity does not identify who controls the page or establish a meeting, current use or infidelity. Stop once the public result gives one clear contextual question, or no useful lead.
A couple more questions
Do two files mean I have two different photographs?
Not when they came from an original-format export of one Live Photo. Apple documents a still-image component and a video component for that one source.
Can I pair two files using only their names?
No. Use the export operation you performed or a known source record. Otherwise leave the pairing unresolved.
Should an upload error make me switch to the video?
No. Check the actual supported image options and the error first. This workflow does not establish video-input support.
