In a public AMA, treat each sentence as belonging to whoever visibly wrote it. The Answered tab only helps you find questions that received a reply from the original poster or a co-host; it does not convert the question text into the host's statement. Verify the visible author of the specific sentence before any biography, summary or AI draft relies on it.

Three voices can appear in one answered item
An AMA thread brings together an audience question, a reply from the original poster or a co-host, and sometimes quoted material carried inside either. The Answered view exists to filter questions and comments that drew a reply from the host or a co-host. It is a locating tool, not an attribution rule: the question writer remains the author of the question, and a co-host remains the author of the co-host's reply. - Open the thread itself, not only the filtered list, so you can see who wrote each sentence.
Use the answered filter only to find replies
Filtering to answered items shortens your search for host or co-host participation. Once you land on a reply, stop treating the filter as evidence and read the visible author label on that specific comment. Note that community rules and authentication practices can differ between AMAs, so a reply's authorship depends on what the page shows, not on assumptions about how a subreddit runs. - Write down the author label beside the exact sentence you plan to rely on.
Separate question premises from answers
A question often contains a premise, a guess or a summary of something the host supposedly said. Those words belong to the question writer until the host explicitly repeats or confirms them. A co-host answer is likewise a claim by that co-host, not the main host. When quoted text appears inside a question or reply, attribute it to the person quoting it, and mark the original source as unknown unless the page identifies it.
- Label each sentence as question, host reply, co-host reply or quoted text.
Keep observation, limit and decision apart
Record what the page visibly shows, then record what it cannot show, then decide what to do. A visible username on a reply shows who posted under that username; it does not prove the person's real identity. A matching photo or profile detail is not proof of identity or intent. If the source is absent, private, mismatched or ambiguous, note that precise limit and stop the inference rather than reaching for another way to identify someone. | observation | limit | next step |
|---|---|---|
| The Answered tab lists an item with a reply. | It does not show who authored the question text. | Read the thread and label the question writer separately. |
| A co-host posted a reply under a visible username. | A username alone does not prove real-world identity. | Attribute the sentence to that username only; do not assert identity. |
| A reply quotes a sentence without a source. | The original speaker is unidentified. | Mark the quote as unattributed and do not build on it. |
| The thread is inaccessible or the author label is ambiguous. | No reliable attribution is possible from this source. | Record the limit and stop the inference. |
Before an AI biography adopts a sentence
An AI draft may merge a question, a co-host reply and quoted text into one smooth paragraph that reads as if the main host said everything. Check each factual sentence in the draft against the visible author of that sentence in the thread. Where authorship is unclear, revise the draft to attribute the claim to the question writer or co-host, or remove it. Hypothetical: a draft says the host confirmed a detail, but the detail appears only in a question the host never echoed; that sentence should be rewritten or cut.
- Trace every biographical claim in the draft back to a specific, visibly authored sentence.
Choose the narrow next action
If you want to clarify attribution, ask about one specific public line and quote it with its visible author label. Do not present your reading of a whole thread as settled. If the line cannot be tied to a writer, say so plainly. This keeps the record honest and gives a later reader or reviewer a precise point to verify.
- Draft a single-line question naming the exact sentence and its visible author.
A couple more questions
Does the Answered tab mean the host said the question text?
No. The tab only filters questions and comments that received a reply from the original poster or a co-host. The question writer still authored the question.
Is a co-host reply the same as the main host's statement?
No. Attribute the sentence to the co-host who visibly posted it, and do not merge it into the main host's voice.
What should I do if the author of a line is unclear?
Record that limit and stop the inference. Do not guess an identity or find another route to confirm it; ask about one specific public line instead.
